I work with youth and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, and challenging life transitions with a particular focus on ecological anxiety, including distress related to climate change, environmental concerns, and global geopolitical uncertainty. I bring insights from 25 years as an environmental science university professor into my practice, particularly around environmental and geopolitical issues and the climate emergency. I draw on a variety of modalities with my clients including Cognitive Behavioural Theory and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Alongside her training in counselling psychology, she is a university professor and researcher with more than 25 years of experience exploring environmental and social issues and supporting students through academic and life challenges. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and practical, drawing on evidence-based strategies to help clients better understand what they are experiencing, recognize their strengths, and make meaningful changes in their lives.

I have a background and have taught about climate science for 25 years as a professor in Earth and Environmental Science at Dalhousie University
Bachelor of Environmental Studies, Masters of Environmental Studies and Ph.D. all focusing on environmental education PLUS completing my Masters of Counselling Psychology Practicum (should be liscenced by January 2027, but practicing under my clinical director currently and using CBT and ACT specifically with clients who present with ecological anxiety)
